EIS Analyzer 2.5.1 is here. This release adds native SAFION support, a new Fit Quality preset that trades speed for precision in one click, fresh Dynamic EIS kinetics, and a wide reliability pass that makes every DRT, fitting and Customize option you set actually take effect — plus a fixed in-app updater so future updates install themselves.
The Batalyse EIS Analyzer is a desktop application for analyzing Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) data from batteries, fuel cells, supercapacitors and electrochemical sensors. It covers the complete workflow from raw data import through equivalent-circuit fitting, Distribution of Relaxation Times (DRT) analysis and Kramers-Kronig validation to Origin (.opju) and CSV export. Version 2.5.1 gathers everything since 2.4.0 into one polished, dependable release.
Choose your speed vs. precision: Fit Quality presets
A new Fit Quality preset — Fast, Balanced or High precision — now sits in the Fitting, Auto-Analysis and DEIS Fit-all menus. Pick the trade-off you need without touching solver internals: Fast for a quick look, Balanced for everyday work, and High precision which adds a multi-start rescue that recovers tricky fits other settings miss.
Native SAFION support and hardened parsers
More of your raw files load directly, with sweeps and metadata intact:
- SAFION IE10522 — the multi-section
EIS_DATA_CH*.csvexports from the SAFION cycler now load directly (frequency, real and imaginary impedance). - Bio-Logic .mpr — more robust parsing of empty / TCUS / Rdc files, VMP3 structural headers and duplicate column IDs, plus device, channel and acquisition metadata read from the LOG section.
- Maccor — hardened V1 and V2 binary parsing across voltage ranges and sources, with clearer messages when a binary file isn’t EIS.
Dynamic EIS: new derived kinetics
Dynamic EIS trajectories gain two new derived quantities — the effective double-layer capacitance Cdl (Brug) and the kinetic ratio H = σW / Rct — selectable alongside your fitted parameters and included in every export, so you can watch interfacial kinetics evolve across state of charge, time and cycle right beside Rct and Rs.
Everything you set now takes effect
A broad reliability pass closes a whole class of “the control does nothing” bugs across DRT, fitting and Customize:
- DRT honors every advanced option — enforce-positive (on by default), basis, regularization order, RBF shape, inductance handling and imaginary-only — so γ(τ) no longer drifts negative.
- Fitting applies your constraints, frequency window, lambda method and iteration count, and the differential-evolution method no longer fails silently.
- Customize controls take effect: DEIS stationarity reference voltage, areal-Nyquist export, custom legend label and DRT fill opacity on Origin export, the electrode-area input, and legend position and graph titles in the plot previews.
- Multi-file fits group in the Fit Results immediately; Parameter Trend stays visible on the Voltage x-axis even without voltage metadata; and “Compute SOC from current” reads SOC, current and time from a file’s comment header.
- Manual fits converge to full precision again.
A self-updating app
The in-app updater is fixed: it now runs the downloaded installer instead of silently doing nothing, so updates actually apply and relaunch the app — without needing admin rights. From 2.5.1 onward, staying current is a single click.
Work in your own language
The in-app guide is updated and translated across all ten languages — English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Hindi — including the new Fit Quality presets and SAFION support.
Get 2.5.1: update from inside the app, or download the latest installer from the EIS Analyzer page. Questions, feedback, or run into anything while trying the new release? Write to us at support@batalyse.com — we’d love to hear how it works with your data.
