No. Data Analysis is a software for the evaluation of electrochemical measurement data.
This includes in particular batteries and fuel cells. We are happy to add further systems/processes/methods according to your requirements.
Data Analysis is a plug-in for the data analysis and graphing software Origin. To install and use Batalyse, a working installation of Origin/OriginPro 2018 or newer is required. Then simply download the latest version of Data Analysis from our download page, extract the content of the zip file, and drag-and-drop the included opx file to an open Origin window. The installation should be finished within a few seconds, and the Batalyse-Data Analysis toolbar will be shown.
The Batalyse-Data Analysis Trial Version is always limited in time for 2-4 weeks.
The Full Version of Batalyse includes the installation file and a license file. The license file limits the usage of Data Analysis to a specific computer or a Origin license group.
Electrochemical cycling, EIS (Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy) and CV (Cyclic Voltammetry), as well as Pulse tests, Online-MS and Thickness-measurements are supported by Batalyse-Data Analysis.
We add any method, test device, file structure or feature you require within the scope of the license without addtional costs.
Yes. Data Analysis supports direct import from SQL-based databases (MySQL, MSSQL), thus saving you the time usually needed to export, transfer and re-import the data files from your measurement system.
If you plan to use a database and you want to import data from it directly to Data Analysis, please contact us with further information and we will do our best to add support for your database.
Instructions for connecting Batalyse to your database can be found in our Wiki.
- When starting the evaluation, choose multiple files simultaneously. After inputting the parameters of each file, a popup will be shown, prompting for comparison of the selected files.
- When multiple tests are already evaluated in a single Origin project file, the button “Compare Workbooks” from the toolbar can be used to select and compare the required tests.
Yes, after you have created a series of measurements with “Compare Workbooks” via the Batalysis Toolbar, you can also compare them again with “Compare Workbooks” with individual measurements or a series of measurements.
Further information: Wiki
Yes. To do that, select the files simultaneously for evaluation, and when the parameters dialog opens select the group of files to be merged in the “Merge” column. Data Analysis will then connect the selected files to a single table, sorted by the starting date/time, and perform the evaluation as if it was one continuous data file.
We are happy to accommodate your needs. Please contact us with your requests, and when possible a sketch of the required diagram.
The complete list of devices currently supported by Batalyse can be found on this page of the Batalyse Wiki.
We always add any device, file structure or file type for free.
Unfortunately Data Analysis cannot be used without Origin. However, if you want to test Data Analysis before committing to buying Origin, you can download and install a demo version of Origin which is valid for 21 days. In case that your test system is not yet supported by Data Analysis, in order to avoid wasting the trial period of Origin, you can send us a few test files so that we can make the needed modifications to Data Analysis in advance, and let you know when you should start your trial version.
Origin offers many advantages to the user for modifying and further customizing the result graphs.
Text boxes can be added, axis labels changed, line colors changed, legend modified, etc., etc., as desired. It is possible to enter the diagrams and create very complex diagrams. Diagram quality is very high compared to other programs.
In Excel, the possibilities are limited by the maximum number of lines that can be used to evaluate large measurement files. Charts can be modified much less easily and extensively. More complex diagrams are not available.
Python offers extensive program libraries free of charge and is perfectly suited to create result diagrams. Unfortunately, the user does not have the possibility to modify these diagrams extensively via a suitable interface.
If you recently updated Data Analysis and are trying to evaluate again a file which you already evaluated with an older version of Batalyse, it is possible that inconsistencies in the JSON parameters file are causing the problems. Please try deleting the parameters file (which is saved in the same folder of the test file, unless otherwise specified) and retry the evaluation.
Otherwise, please contact our support with a detailed description of what you tried to do and what was the problem, and if possible the test files you tried to use as well, so that we can fix the problem and update Data Analysis. Please refer to our Wiki for more details.
In general, large files with many cycles take longer to evaluate than small files.
The evaluation can be accelerated by:
- Using a fast computer
- Deploy new versions of Origin that support multi-core processors
- Reduction of the graphs to be generated in Batalyse
- Selecting only one language for the result diagrams
You can also update your result diagrams if your tests are still running with the new “Continue Import” function.
Hint:
You can evaluate several files one after the other with Batalyse (see Batch Evaluation). This allows you to work through entire measurement runs during the lunch break or over the night.
We are also working on an automatic evaluation which is carried out immediately after the measurement is finished. For this, both the evaluation program Data Analysis and the database Mind are required.
It is possible that your installed version of Batalyse has expired, or that the Batalyse installation folder was corrupted. Please download and install the latest version of Batalyse and try again. If the problems persist, please contact our support at contact@batalyse.com
Our Batalyse Wiki contains a lot of detailed information on the different functions and options of Batalyse.
Please also check our tutorial videos.
With Batalyse-Data Analysis you can evaluate measured data extensively and conveniently.
Our Batalyse-Mind database also gives you the possibility to save all background information on a measurement and link it to the evaluated results.
Mind and Data Analysis are linked with each other, but can also be used independently. Data Analysis directly imports the parameters of a specimen out of Mind for the evaluation. They do not have to be entered manually again.
Mind is a Laboratory Information and Management System (LIMS) connecting all your test data and result files with additonal information.
Mind combines a material, process, tool, project, test and specimen library to support you with all information you need.
No. Mind is a platform for data organization and structuring and can be used for any topic (medicine/pharmaceutical, material research, process development etc.).
Mind is a combination of an electronic labbook and database and can be linked to an evaluation software. In the field of batteries and fuel cells this is Data Analysis.
Data Analysis and Mind can be used independently of each other.
However, a common use grants you numerous advantages. By combining Data Analysis and Mind you can automate your test file evaluation and have all information available to interpret the test.
The Mind database is available on test servers. Please contact us if you are interested in a demonstration.
In order to use Mind you need server capacity in- house or on a cloud to store your measurement data and information. Mind provides a structure with many useful features.
No!
Data Analysis and Mind were developed in such a way that only YOU, the user, has access to your own measurement data. All data remain local to you. You do not need to load data into a third party (foreign) cloud to use Data Analysis or Mind. Nevertheless, you can use Data Analysis to evaluate measurement data on your computer/network/server/cloud. It is your decision.
We or other Data Analysis/Mind users have no access to your measurement data.
- Batalyse-Data Analysis – Evaluation and plotting of measurement data independent of the measuring station and method used. Multilingual customizable, labelled diagrams with flexibly adaptable legend and export function
- Batalyse-Mind – Database for storing all background information of a measurement. Batalyse retrieves all information about a test item from Mind. Parameter files no longer have to be created manually.
- Batalyse-Collect – A central SQL server syncronoizing all your test and analysis data.
Data Analysis is an evaluation tool for batteries and fuel cells and other electrochemical systems and processes.
We would be pleased to create an adapted tool for your application.
The full version of Batalyse contains a license file in addition to the installation file. The license file is created for a specific computer or a user-group with the same Origin licence number.
The license file can be downloaded or is sent to you by mail.
Further details: Wiki
Yes. With a license sum of >20,000 € per year we can offer an escrow service, providing the source code.
We have a different cost model for industrial customers and public research institutes.
The license includes a service for programming new features and updates.
All Batalyse software modules are sold through an annual license fee.
